Solvent free, Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of Aromatic Nitriles and Oximes Using Solid Acids as Catalysts

Abstract

Microwave-Assisted organic synthesis of aromatic nitriles and oximes was performed using aromatic aldehydes in the presence of hydroxylamine hydrochloride NH2OH-HCl and solid acids as catalysts to give good yields in short reaction times. The effect of the heterogeneous catalysts such as mixed oxides and TiO2 were discussed. This efficient method enabled us to synthesize a variety of useful nitriles and oximes.
